Contributors to Nozstock’s homegrown shorts programme range from professional filmmakers to first attempt amateurs, the only specific criteria for qualification being that films are based around a strong original concept. Films will be shown on both Friday and Saturday nights.

Films should be submitted PAL format as SD .MOV ideally (though DVD is also acceptable) and should include a brief synopsis, submission form and relevant information and contacts regarding the filmmaker/s to be sent to:

Nozstock will consider family-friendly feature films for daytime screenings. Otherwise a limit of 30 minutes per film is specified.
This is not a competitive festival, however your work stands to be seen by 5000 visitors.

Nozstock Shorts in the Daytime
> A selection of shorts to boggle the minds of young and old. A sense of wonder is the starting point of these vibrant animations, dotted with a splash of the humorous and intriguing. Filmmakers hail from amateur enthusiasts to graduates at the National Film and Television School.


Rural Media Company, Fieldwork
> Jo Brand, the comedienne, has dubbed Rural Media’s latest heritage project, Fieldwork "...a joy! Wonderful, engaging stories from rural Herefordshire in the 40's, 50's and 60's. Often comical, sometimes sad, and occasionally harsh, they give real insight into the lives of a group of fascinating characters, whose lives need to be remembered." Fieldwork, directed by Jane Jackson, screened at Borderlines Film Festival in April 2009 at the Courtyard, Hereford and many of the 30 stories were also shown as shorts at the 25 Flicks in the Sticks Borderlines screenings in village halls in Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

> in association with bbc film network, moving image work from the latest bright sparks and upcoming talent from the uk indie filmmaking scene, inlcuding a selection of freshly commissioned bbc music and comedy shorts. a collaboration with the bbc interactive showcase for british filmmakers, that aims to give exposure to the most exciting new talent by screening shorts and profiling the people behind them.

> exposures: new talent in moving image celebrates emerging filmmakers every year in November in Manchester. The festival is a chance for students across the coutnry to get their work recognised, network with experienced professionals, attend exciting workshops and win prestigious awards allowing them a first taste of industry success. This collection showcases some of the award winners.
